Whispers of a Dawn of War Revival: Relic Entertainment Sparks Hope Among Fans
- 17 Mar 2025

The gaming community has been alive with theories and conjectures about the future of the Dawn of War series. Even though the third installment didn't quite resonate with either the RTS or Warhammer communities, the enduring appeal and nostalgia tied to the first two entries continue to captivate players. There is a lingering hope that this classic franchise may one day reclaim its former glory.
Recent observations indicate that developer Relic Entertainment might be revisiting this beloved series. A post on LinkedIn by a professional named Dominik Dolenec from Emona suggests that the company, which manages Relic, is showing interest in the franchise. Dolenec made a visit to Warhammer World in Nottingham, where he received a tour from Owen Rees, the head of licensing at Games Workshop.
During the visit, Dolenec was spotted wearing a Relic Entertainment shirt, indicating he might have been there in an official capacity representing the developer. Although this may just represent a situation of speculation, the clues seem to suggest a potential revival, and fans of Dawn of War are eager to cling to any positive indication they can find.
With Relic Entertainment recently gaining independence from Sega, it’s likely they are looking to make a significant impact. Reviving a franchise they haven't developed since 2017 could be the perfect opportunity to demonstrate their renewed prowess and creativity. However, until any formal announcements are made, this remains a rumor, albeit an exhilarating one for fans.
