Microsoft has revealed a bonus update hitting Xbox consoles ahead of October, which although minor in terms of new features, introduces several significant changes. The update involves a change to game capture retention. 

From now on, any captures made will be deleted after 90 days so users will need to manually back up any clips they wish to keep. As part of this update, Xbox has further streamlined this new system. So users wanting to retain any notable clips or moments should ensure they are securely backed up to prevent deletion. 

Other features of the update include enhanced gameplay, with easier identification of in-game events, and faster app installations during the setup of a new Xbox.
