Disney's Live-Action Lilo & Stitch: A New Adventure Awaits This May
- 17 Mar 2025

Disney has revealed an initial sneak peek of the live-action version of a beloved animated favorite. This much-anticipated remake of Lilo & Stitch, originally released in 2002, is set to introduce the endearing character Stitch to a new generation this May, shortly after the premiere of another noteworthy live-action adaptation, Snow White.
The cast for this fresh take features Maia Kealoha stepping into the role of Lilo, alongside notable actors such as Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, along with Courtney B. Vance and Tia Carrere, who lent her voice to Nani, Lilo's sister in the original film, also makes an appearance. Additional cast members include Jason Scott Lee and Amy Hill.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, who is recognized for the Academy Award-nominated Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, this remake seeks to capture the magic of the original. The initial film was helmed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. Interestingly, Sanders, now focused on the acclaimed work The Wild Robot for DreamWorks, reprises his role as the voice of Stitch. DeBlois is also working on bringing another animated gem to life in a live-action format: How to Train Your Dragon.
